(I know it looks like I skipped Things 2 & 3, but I didn't. They involved doing something, not posting about it...)
I really like Delicious and I am using it more and more. I like that I can access my bookmarks no matter what computer I'm on. Before I had different bookmarks on different computers and it was annoying. It was also a constant challenge to keep my bookmarks organized. I like that with Delicious I can give my saved sites tags that mean something to me. I like that I can easily sort my tags, and add on related tags. I find it very useful.
I have used Delicious to share resources. I actually started using Delicious because I was co-teaching a course and this was a way for me to share information I found on the web with my co-instructor that didn't involve e-mailing him. I still use it for that, and send him links. And he sends me links too. I definitely use it 95% of the time for just me, as an individual. But I think it is useful both individually and for sharing resources.
I think Delicious could definitely be used as the KU Library did - to help organize websites for users. It is much easier than setting up a webpage and trying to maintain it. And you could potentially open it up so that your users could contribute also.
Our first post is supposed to be about life long learning. We watched an online tutorial about the concept of life long learning. It was interesting because it reminded me that life long learning is a much broader concept than just professional development. I often think of life long learning as being something I need to do to keep current with my profession, much like how health care professionals need to take so many credits of CE in a year to remain certified. But the tutorial reminded me that even things not related to work are good for us to do in order to continue learning, like reading or learning a new skill.
We were asked which habit of the 7 1/2 habits would be the easiest for me. Likely habit #6 would be easiest for me. That is the habit about using technology to your advantage. I definitely try to incorporate technology into what I do if it will help me save time or be more organized. I like especially like learning about technology that can help me save time.
The habit that will be the hardest for me is #3 - to view problems as challenges. It is difficult to view problems in a positive manner, and I believe that is what this habit is recommending. Instead of viewing problems as a crisis, we should instead be more optimistic about problems and know that in the end we will learn something from a problem. I'm sure that keeping a more positive outlook on problems with not only assist with solving the problem but will also help me to learn something from it too.
